"It doesn’t make sense with the need that exists to then decrease the population being served"

The children’s center serves our community in so many ways and brings our community together. The center not only serves the families, but also the students of Orange Coast College. I have seen my former students observing classes and working toward their dream of working with children.
We waited for 11 months to get our child into a daycare facility in the area. The waitlists are long with restrictions on ages and hours of care. The center fills so many needs and not only has a waitlist, but extra space that wasn’t being utilized. It doesn’t make sense with the need that exists to then decrease the population being served.
Unlike other schools, the center offers children an outdoor space and wholistic education with experienced educators. It needs to stay open as its closure will have profound and lasting effects on both the staff and families involved.
